Small Groups offer special ways to grow together as Christians through fellowship, service, study, and support for one another. For information about a small group contact the designated leader or our Deacon for Small Groups, Judy Geck 713-3047.

 

Amani Bead Workshops are a wonderful opportunity to enjoy fellowship and provide for mission. These workshop groups make beautiful jewelry with hand-made ceramic beads from Kenya. Beads are purchased at a nominal cost. All proceeds go to The Amani Children’s Foundation that supports the New Life Home Trust in Kenya. Bead workshops are the 3rd Tuesday of each month 10am- 12noon. Contact Peg Johnson, 919-880-1491.

Cancer Support Group welcomes anyone whose life has been affected by cancer, is undergoing cancer treatment, or if someone you love has cancer. There is no sign up or long term commitment. We meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm. Contact Phyllis Johanson 253-4760.

Chancel Choir supports our worship each week with inspirational song, practicing Wednesday evenings at 7:00 and Sunday mornings at 10:30. Contact Laurie Russ, Director of Music.

Disciple Small Group is a covenant group of dedicated members who study the bible and pray for one another, offering mutual support and friendship. Disciple will gladly mentor others who desire to begin a similar covenant group. Contact the Church Office.

Grief Support Group gathers monthly in support of one another in the ways each of us deal with loss. We use “Healing After Loss” by Martha Whitmore Hickman as a guide and daily devotion. All are welcome. Your grief need not be new. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 10:45am in the Church Library. Contact Judy Sawers 845-3395.

Knitting Ministry makes Prayer Shawls, Newborn Caps, Chemo Caps, Sweaters, Baby Blankets, and Lap Robes for Wounded Warriors. All are welcome to join us, even if you don’t know how to knit. We can teach you! We meet at 10:00am in Fellowship Hall the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Contact Judy Sawers at 845-3395.

Men’s Roundtable. This new men’s group explores our faith journey through open discussion using the daily devotion books Uncommon Life Daily Challenge written by Tony Dungy and Seize the Day with Deitrich Bobhoeffer by Charles Ringma. Each day’s devotion includes a Bible verse and life-applying interpretation, with themes such as friends, family, influence, and potential. We meet in the Church Library Wednesday mornings, 9:30-11:00. Contact Bob Jahnes 470-3260.

Prayer Ministry meets weekly to pray for our church and members of our congregation, families, and friends, and for world issues. We gather on Wednesday mornings at 11:30 at a member’s home for prayer and meditation. If you would like us to pray for or with you, or if you want to join us in prayer, contact Grace Lee 253-3000 or Angie Kaley 518-307-8251.

Pre-Choir Supper. This dinner group is for choir members and non-choir friends. We meet each Wednesday, Sept-June at 5:30 PM, at various venues in the Southport area to share food, fellowship and fun – no regular commitment necessary. A weekly email notice gives the   dining spot for Wednesday. Everyone is welcome, but it is helpful to know who is joining us to reserve a place. Contact Bob Lee 253-3000.

Walk/Run with God connects our spiritual lives with physical exercise: running and walking. We gather for short devotion, support, and prayer and then we run or walk at our own preferred distance and pace. We meet Monday mornings at 8:30 in Fellowship Hall. Contact Angie Kaley (518)307-8251.
