Christian Education
Christian Education Offerings – Fall 2011
Our fall schedule
provides classes and opportunities to deepen your faith and understanding.
Forum meets Sunday mornings, 9:30-10:30
in the Education Building for a discussion-based study of contemporary
theological issues and church history. “NOOMA,”
a Rob Bell series that communicates biblical wisdom about current issues will be
the first offering. This class is appropriate for fifth grade through adults.
Adult Bible Study meets Sunday mornings, 9:30- 10:30 in the Church
Library. A new study, “Feasting on the Word,” will help us understand the lectionary
readings in more depth that we hear in each Sunday worship service.
Children’s Sunday
School also uses “Feasting on the
Word.” Their classes meet after the Children’s Time in worship.
Youth grades 5 through 12
study “Feasting on the Word” during their Wednesday night meetings of supper,
fellowship, worship and Bible study.
Two
DISCIPLE Classes have been formed this fall:
Becoming Disciples through Bible Study (An overview of the Old and New
Testaments for those new to Disciple) led by Rev. Ann Jahnes and Sandy Kaufhold
on Monday nights.
Under the tree of Life:
Wisdom Literature, for those who have completed the Overview, will be led by
Phyllis Johanson and Cindy Johnson.
