Nursery/Children, Youth and Family
Our Children, Youth and Family Ministry provides an opportunity to serve by joining the team of nursery/preschool volunteers who play, cuddle and help during worship services once every five weeks. If you love little ones and miss your grandchildren, this is a perfect opportunity to show our tiny members the love of Jesus. Contact Judy Wetzig to volunteer.

Nursery-Preschool Room Opens: Sunday Volunteers Needed
Hooray! We are very excited to announce that the Nursery-Preschool is now available on Sunday mornings. The room and toys are regularly cleaned and sanitized. Looking at our potential group of children, we anticipate having both toddlers and preschoolers in attendance. All infants, toddlers and preschoolers are welcome to be dropped off to their room beginning at 10:45. We have child care and free play for our younger children and a simple, age-appropriate lesson as well as play time for our preschoolers. To ensure a safe an environment, church policy currently requires that children over 3 years of age and teachers wear masks. We also adhere to a policy from Safe Gatherings that requires two adults in the room when we are open. This is where we need YOU!
If you are missing your grandchildren or just would like to share Jesus’ love with these tiny members, please volunteer to help. You can volunteer to teach the lesson (materials will be provided), or be a snuggler to help these tiny ones feel the love of Jesus here at Southport Presbyterian. Volunteers will be part of a team and help out one Sunday every 4-6 weeks. Many new members have joined us in the last 18 months, and for many established members, now may be the time to respond to the call to help with this special ministry. All volunteers will need to participate in the Safe Gatherings online training.
To volunteer, or inquire for more information, give Judy Wetzig a call (910-444-1324) or sign up on the volunteer list posted on the door, and someone will contact you.
