Join the World of Hearts Movement
A Message from Pastor Joanna:
See the love grow!
I spend time each evening looking up stories of people sharing goodness and joy during this hectic time. I am astonished at door and window decorations. I don’t know if you’ve seen them in your neighborhoods or online, but people are decorating their windows and doors so as people pass by on their daily walks, or as healthcare professionals and essential employees travel to work, they have something joyful to see. Each decoration is a reminder that people care about their neighbors. I have seen supportive notes, hearts, drawings of animals, and so much more. This movement is reflected online with the hashtag: #AWorldofHearts.
For children and youth. I know so many things are unknown and overwhelming such as not participating in sporting events, playing at friends’ houses, games, and activities with friends and classmates.
Paul ends his first letter to the Corinthians with this, “My love is with all of you in Christ Jesus.” While we may not be able to let others know we love them in person, we can share our love through pictures and heartfelt messages!
So, children and youth, if you would like to join me in this movement (adults you are welcome, too!), let’s draw hearts and tape them to our windows. Send pictures of your art, and we will share it on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SouthportPresbyterianNC/ or send to spc.news@southportpresbyterian.com for sharing on the this website.
God of our hearts,
We pray for those who feel alone, for those who are suffering, and for those working to save others. Be with our friends, families, neighbors, communities, and world as we find ways to let others know we are here for them. We pray as Paul, to let our neighbors know, “my love is with all of you in Jesus Christ.” May we all know a world of hearts.
Thank you. God. Thank you, God. Thank you God.
Amen.
