Gifts to the PW’s annual fund (the Mission Pledge) make possible the ongoing mission and ministry of Presbyterian Women—from your monthly circle meetings to the triennial Church-wide Gathering of Presbyterian Women. Your gift enables Presbyterian Women to strengthen the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) in the U.S. and around the world.

The annual fund helps support the denomination’s evangelism, church planting, education and justice work as well as ministry to children, youth, older adults, new immigrants, rural, urban and suburban populations across the United States and around the world. The annual fund also makes possible PW in the Congregation, Presbytery, Synod and Church-wide, as well as PW’s programs, resources, events and much more. The USA Mission Experience, Horizons magazine and Bible study, the Global Exchange, justice work and so much more could not happen without your financial support. Your gift to PW’s annual fund (the Mission Pledge) ensures that this caring community of women can continue its witness to the promise of God’s kingdom. Download Annual Fund Packet here.

Thank Offering is one of two PW USA offerings that provides much-needed financial assistance to 20 to 30 worthwhile programs each year. The recipients are always a mix of domestic and international projects, but all meet crucial needs. At least 40 percent of this offering funds health ministries, often helping the most marginalized members of God’s community. The remaining percentage supports new or expanded projects and small capital improvement projects. Thank Offering grants range from $5,000 to $50,000. At least 40 percent of the offering funds health ministries. Download Brochure

Birthday Offering awards grants to up to five programs. Primarily making possible capital improvement projects, the Birthday Offering supports domestic and international ministries, focusing on areas such as agricultural development, child care, community organization, criminal justice, drug counseling, economic justice, elderly care, employment training, homelessness, literacy, violence or women’s concerns. PW Local Mission Projects

PW Bake Sale at Southport Spring and Winter Craft Festivals – Held at the Annual Southport Winter Craft Festival at Franklin Square Park, proceeds from these homemade baked goods benefit the Southport/Oak Island Interfaith Fellowship (SOIIF) Food Pantry in Boiling Spring Lakes. Volunteer opportunities include baking, booth setup, staffing and take down.
The 2020 festival is scheduled for Sat., Dec. 14.

Lower Cape Fear Hospice – PW provides a light lunch for the visitors receiving care at the Hospice facility in Bolivia the first Saturday of the month. This ministry is much appreciated by family members because they do not have to go off site for their meal.

Winter Sheltering Project for the Homeless – This program originated with Brunswick County Streetreach, a ministry for the area homeless. Streetreach developed a partnership with SOIIF, which organized area churches to each take a week to provide what they were able. The larger churches provide funds for the shelter as well as breakfast and dinner each night for their week, while the smaller churches provide meals and shelter for partial weeks. Together we were able to provide temporary shelter, food and spiritual support for the month of January 2020 and two weeks into February 2020 for families in need. Southport PW is privileged to serve in this ministry.

Margaret Rudd Annual Cake Sale – homemade cakes by PW are delivered in mid-October to Margaret Rudd & Associates for serving at their annual company BBQ.  Proceeds donated by this Brunswick Count real estate company go the church kitchen fund.

PW Annual Nut Sale – orders taken mid-September thru mid-October. Proceeds benefit Southport PW workshops and retreats.
