SPC Donates $40,000 to Brunswick Partnership for Housing

In keeping with a goal to continue to expand its Mission Ministry outreach, Southport Presbyterian Church has joined forces with other area churches, individuals, organizations and foundations to provide much needed transitional housing through Brunswick Partnership for Housing (BPH).
Over the past several years SPC has been working with individuals facing homelessness to providing funds to cover many nights of emergency respite shelter for clients at cooperating local motels. The church recently donated $40,000 for BHP transitional housing projects in Brunswick County. According to BPH Executive Director Sally Learned, the organization has raised $400,000 of its $600,000 capital campaign goal for a building purchase and renovations on 11th Street in Southport, and a capital reserve fund.
